PARTNERSHIPS

Intersection for the Arts

Intersection for the Arts fiscally sponsored Bloodlines: A Medical Mission to Iloilo, Philippines. Intersection provided managerial support and guidance to ensure funding agencies and contributors that funds are well managed, spent according to their guidelines, and that the artists deliver their proposed services or products.

Intersection for the Arts is San Francisco's oldest alternative art space and has a long history of presenting new and experimental work in the fields of literature, theater, music and the visual arts and also in nurturing and supporting the Bay Area's cultural community through service, technical support and mentorship programs. Intersection provides a place where provocative ideas, diverse art forms, artists and audiences can intersect one another. At Intersection, experimentation and risk are possible, debate and critical inquiry are embraced, community is essential, resources and experience are democratized, and today's issues are debated through the heat and immediacy of live art.

Philippine Medical Society of Northern California

Philippine Medical Society of Northern California granted two volunteer spots to the filmmakers on the 2003 medical mission. The Society gave them complete access to the inner workings of the medical mission including opportunities to document surgeries, access to translation services reserved for the medical teams and interviews with top government and healthcare officials.

Founded in 1973, the Philippine Medical Society of Northern California (PMSNC) is a nonprofit organization of physicians of Philippine- descent. Centered around the San Francisco Bay Area, members come from private and group practices, the U.S. military, government medical institutions and academic fields. PMSNC is engaged in four principal activities and projects: continuing education, mentor-mentee program, scholarship program and medical missions to the Philippines. After sixteen years of medical missions, the Society has served 62,000 patients through the time and skills of 1077 volunteers.
